This work of art was the basis for my Labrador Retriever gift items. In 1904, John Singer Sargent painted the magnificent painting of Lady Helen Vincent. It was painted while she was visiting Venice. She was known in her circles as beautiful, intelligent and charming, as well as an out-standing hostess.
Singer Sargent was a portrait artist sought out by trailblazers and influencers of his time.
He stopped painting portraits in 1907, but continued capturing people’s likenesses in charcoal drawings. You can see an impressive collection of his charcoal works in this exhibition tour video.
